Active Healthcare

Tea Time
I’m a coffee guy myself, but as a parent of a teenager and three more pre-teens I wanted to borrow one of their slang terms…’TEA‘, which means let’s hear the truth or the news. In this month’s newsletter I’ll be spilling the tea on how to get into a healthy routine.
Since my patients range from high school athletes to grandparents I cant address everything in this space. So I’ll target those of you who are 40 and up, since this is generally the time where the trajectory of one’s healthline either begins to plumet due to continues poor health habits or declines slowly due to good health habits and proper aging. Let’s first discuss some basic red flags that your health is not where it should be:
• Low energy/stamina
•  Poor quality of sleep
• Digestive issues
• Skin blemishes and eyes not as bright
• Brain fog
• Body aches and pains
• Poor sexual function
• Decreased muscle mass
• Undesired weight gain esp.  increased belly fat

These sighs appear before diagnostic or lab tests show any abnormalities. The difference is that these signs show adaptive physiology not pathology. Meaning, due to prolonged stress the body has made adaptive changes which is what the body is designed to do when stressed, however if kept in this state, it will eventually become pathological. If you are showing any of these red flags and would like to make some changes but aren’t sure how to go about it, then I’m hear to help.
